The why of AAS

Peace of mind. Value. Professional validation.

Peace of mind

In-person autograph authentication, so you know the signature was seen by a person — not guessed from a photo.

Value for signed memorabilia

A certificate from AAS helps buyers and sellers trust the piece and can support its value.

Research and validation

Each item is examined by hand and compared with known examples of that signer’s writing.

How it works

Submit your item. We authenticate it. You can verify it later.

01

Submit your item

See current fees on Submit your item, then mail it in or drop it off. There is no online form.

02

In-person authentication

The owner looks at the signature on the real piece.

03

Your certificate

If it is authentic, you receive a certificate with a number. If it is not, the item is returned.

04

Verify authenticity

Anyone can enter that cert number here to see the item and photos.

Sample COAs

This is what an AAS certificate looks like.

If the item is authentic, you receive a paper certificate with a cert number. Anyone can verify authenticity on this site with that number.
